Ken was raised in Selma, California and attended Fresno State University as a criminology major. Ken started his carreer with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office. While with Santa Cruz County, Ken was a Patrol Deputy and rotated into the Court Division as a Bailiff.

In September of 1993, Ken moved back home, to Fresno, to join the Fresno Police Department. Ken excelled within the patrol division and was soon selected for different investigative assignments.
These investigative assignments include;
· Misdemeanor Crimes
· Residential and Commercial Burglary
· Alcohol Beverage Control {ABC) licensing and enforcement
· Tobacco Grant Coordinator
· Financial Crimes Unit
· FBI- Task Force Officer assigned to White Collar Crimes Squad, Fresno Resident Agency
· Violent Street Crimes Unit- Homicide
· Family Justice Bureau- Child Abuse Unit
During his term with the Financial Crimes Unit he investigated identity theft, fraud, employee theft, embezzlement, mortgage fraud, tax fraud and theft by false pretense cases.
Ken has presented cases to both the Fresno County District Attorneys Office and the United States Attorney’s Office for prosecution in both State and Federal Court. These cases involved Ken working closely with many prosecuting attorneys. Ken has testified in both Federal and State court.
In 2014, Ken was assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) White Collar Crime Squad as a Task Force Officer (TFO) in the Fresno Resident Agency.
During his time in different investigative Units with the Police Department Ken has investigated a multitude of different cases.
Ken was assigned to the Homicide Unit and the Child Abuse Unit. During these assignments Ken investigated the deaths of both adults and children and viewed and documented the autopsies of these individuals.
With the Fresno Police Department, Ken taught new police recruits in regard to Problem Oriented Policing (POP) and Child Abuse cases. Ken also taught at the Police Dispatcher Academy to teach the new dispatchers on how to handle child abuse related police calls for service.
During Ken’s Investigative career he authored and served over 500 search warrants which resulted in the arrests of individuals who committed a multitude of different crimes. Ken helped groom and train many detectives with the Department.
Ken completed the Behavior Analysis Training Institute courses and took pride in conducting quality interviews of victims, witnesses and suspects.
In October of 2019, Ken retired from the Fresno Police Department with 30 years of law enforcement experience. Ken and his wife, Sherri have made Fresno their home. Ken is a member of Ducks Unlimited, the Fresno Police Officers Association the Police Officer’s Research Association of California (PORAC) and CALI, California Association of Licensed Investigators.
